The magnificent legend ... Pact of Light.

When we feel “something” in the air, for example waiting for “the first night” of a show or of something important which involves others ..., it is not only the sound of voices or their tone that give the sensation of waiting, but there is also “something” extra.  Our mood, for example.  How can our mood which is hidden in us become so tangible and real?  The truth is that the reality of a sound, the sight of something or someone, a gesture, an event, pass ... quickly, like a flash of lightening!  It is a fleeting reality that lives for only a few moments and then becomes invisible.  Those images of reality which strike us more than others are recorded in our mind, in the invisible depths of our memories.  Even in silence which highlights our attention and commitment (for example, in following my words), there is something more.

Every silence has different meanings ...  and yet it is still just silence, but we “read” different invisible realities into them.  How can we “read” invisible realities?  Because everything is real and concrete, even the invisible! It has its own life, its own energy which every one of us can “read” and feel.  Energies which, if they are positive, attract (for those who believe) good things and the prompting presence of the Spirit, if negative, completely different forces and beings.  When we are in a place full of love we feel able to let go, we feel at home.  Vice versa in a negative place we feel uneasy, we try to leave ... we have “read”, sensed and felt, good and evil...

Observing, thinking, analysing, produces thoughts and opinions which seem to differ from person to person.  On the one hand, materialists, and on the other hand spiritualists ... to put it simply.  However, how is it that both types “read” sense and feel ... the “invisible”?

Removing sight which often stops at “concrete” reality gives an impetus to “feel” or perceive the invisible world.  In fact, nature compensates for blindness by developing the other senses which, like antennae or radar, partly if not completely, substitute for the missing sense.  These topics – the visible, the invisible, good and evil – produce never ending diatribes: on the one hand spiritual, sensitive people and believers, on the other hand, rationalists and also philosophers or scientists who only want to “touch” or rightly prove every idea, intuition, discovery...
Diatribes... conflicts, factions which often divide without tolerance, patience, a spirit of welcome, waiting, dialogue...even if “Logic isn’t logical if it doesn’t correspond to reality...the truth is buried by logic and embellished by love...”(Leo Amici). Those who believe might object: “Why buried by logic and not by love?” Because God “hides” His love  because of His love, to leave us free from having to repay so much...and leaves a space for logic so that, through it, we can reach Him.

From these diatribes, rights and duties are born to "regulate” at least in part, heated spirits, or worse, calm controversies. Rules to respect, decreed by both factions.  This is also true for human rights.  Even in this case there are supporters for the view that human rights have a natural origin and those who see them as being impressed in our heart by God ...

The time and setting of the magnificent legend is a "neutral zone"  ... the time of primitive tribes.  I wrote and directed it ... for whom?  For everyone, as in all my musicals and shows ... and yet ... with special attention for those, especially the young, who are not a part of one faction or the other ... not yet compromised by one or the other, not contaminated by conditioning and opportunity ... for those in the delicate moment of "choosing", where objectivity is paramount ... where there is a need for answers in order to discern and evaluate.  Leo Amici, whose words are used off-stage to narrate the legend as well as in the dialogues of the actors, appears to speak in a real way to those who still have to choose ...

In fact, his words seem directed to that point of science that rejects God, or the part of faith that rejects science.

If - everything breaks, fragments and is destroyed, but nothing comes to an end - as science shows, but everything changes or is transformed into something else,  - then there is no beginning.  This is what Leo Amici says, and he continues - if there is no beginning, there is no creation.  This statement makes him sound like a sceptical scientist who rejects the logic of a Galilean God and strongly doubts a beginning willed and created by God.  A beginning that, even if it "only" means putting order (Kairos) into disorder (Kaos) following for example, a big- bang, shouldn't take anything away from God's infinite power.  The big-bang theory is often used, among other things, to reject the idea of a beginning through God and faith in Him.

This is why I have taken Leo Amici's words of forty, fifty years ago, words which were ahead of the times and anticipated scientific discoveries and I have "sprinkled" them throughout the show.  This, therefore, is the reason for the "magnificent legend", a story out of time, yet set in a precise historical context beyond every belief, ideology and opposing factions ... I have written and produced it to look into and make us look objectively into our "primitive" heart.  I want to see if human nature, which in time has conceived and drawn up the charter of human rights, achieved this as a consequence of a "big-bang" in human awareness or conscience or if behind that spark of awareness there lies a superior will...
